The Fremont #1 School Board Trustees recognized Mr. Else and the LVHS Math team at their April meeting!

The team went to the regional math competition at Central Wyoming College in Riverton. Our students competed in a series of five tests, covering algebra, trigonometry, statistics, geometry, and some calculus. Many questions were word problems with a "twist".

After the tests, students were given tours of the CWC campus and got to do some enrichment activities while they waited for the regional scores to be tabulated.

A copy of the scoring sheet from the Class A team (11th and 12th graders) and the Class B team (9th and 10th graders) is attached. LVHS students are indicated by a blue mark.

Usually, the students find out in May how they did in regard to scores from around the state.

    Great job, students!

The LVHS Astronomy Club had a good turnout last night for our eclipse viewing. All and all, around 20 kids showed up. Things started off well with a dark sky and few clouds, but as the eclipse progressed the clouds rolled in. The sky was clear long enough for us to see the eclipse reach totality, but we were unable to see the moon re-emerge. Several cameras were set up to capture the event and I have compiled the best student photos to create the attached composite image. No re-touching or coloring was added. Enjoy (-: Mr. Hardy, LVHS
